My cloud home local access1/17/2024 So that you can still use your M圜loud on the go afterwards, I recommend using a VPN. Doesn't work? Then you did everything right!. You can test this by trying to log in to your NAS with M圜. Your M圜loud is now a "normal" NAS without a connected cloud service. Instead of using the browser or the app, you can now access your M圜loud via network shares and copy data much faster - always provided your router supports a fast WiFi standard and Gigabit Ethernet. Your M圜loud can then no longer be reached via M圜, but only in the internal network, which is sufficient in most cases. Don't worry: you can of course reactivate the service at any time. Here you will find the "Remote Access" switch, which you must deactivate if you no longer want to use M圜. Now select “General” in the settings menu. Here you will find all the options to manage the M圜loud NAS. Now click on the "Settings" menu item in the upper right corner of the user interface. Enter your username and password and you are already in the M圜loud interface. If you did everything right, it will look like the image below. Then enter it in the browser line using the same pattern with in front of it. To do this, you must either enter the network name of the M圜loud - by default "mycloud" with a preceding in the browser: If that doesn't work, you have to log into your router and find out the IP address of the M圜loud-NAS. I don't mean that, but directly and locally in your network. Log in locally on the M圜loudįirst log in to your M圜loud. With M圜 you can log in to your M圜loud from outside. Especially since, as you will find out below, it can also be replaced without any problems. Instead of the apps, I prefer to use network shares, I don't currently use the part with iOS anyway and I can also do without the browser interface - reason enough to pull the plug on the M圜 service for more speed. And that slows things down unnecessarily. On the other hand, and this weighs more heavily for me, apparently all data runs via M圜, even if it is copied locally via the web service or the M圜loud app. The reason: On the one hand, only the password and username separate the NAS data from the big, bad world of the Internet. However, this system gives me – and probably many other users – a stomach ache. The M圜 web service is supposed to make it easy for users to access the data stored on the M圜loud from anywhere in the world: call up M圜, log in and access the NAS at home from any Internet-enabled computer. The only problem: the annoying M圜loud web service. So it made sense to replace the Time Capsule with the M圜loud. Now, however, a new backup task has been added: A Windows PC has to be regularly connected to the File Version History be secured. So far, however, I hadn't gotten around to putting the device into operation, especially since my time capsule was doing its job well. I tested Western Digital's M圜loud some time ago.
